I am intrigued by that part of your brain used for not-first languages. I've spent months looking for Swahili words only to have French come upon me unbidden. Now I'm in Paris and spouting Swahili. Shingapi? is shilling gapi? is how many shillings? but what I'm looking for is, of course, combien?
